This Great Golden Digger Wasp has dug a home in our gravel. It’s a large ground wasp (as big as my finger), but luckily not too aggressive. It’s fascinating to watch her move rocks bigger than marbles in her big jaws.

@Troutredds Nice you leave the wasp to do it's thing and your pond looks fantastic. What's the umbrella for..........in case the frogs wanna get outta the heat, lol!
The umbrella shelters our pump a bit from the elements. Frogs and spiders are welcome but the pump vibration seems to keep them away. :p

Pond now has a small freestanding skimmer setup and an aerator on the bottom, but don’t have any pics yet. Still have some tweaking to do, but this is about two weeks ago (first week in August, 2019 in super-hot Florida Panhandle).
Funny, each of these pics has something in it that indicates a “work in progress”... but that’s how they go, right? This pond started in 2003 and is STILL a work in progress! Lol

My favorite wasp. They love Butterflyweed.

Just love this lily, it is large, around 8 inches, been blooming a lot, new buds coming up right now and huge pads. It is in my 1000 gallon stock tank pond.

No clue where it came from.............

My small stream pond, shallow, this lily survives the freezing of winter, no clue how.
