I just read that "Records going back to 1887 show Phil has now predicted more winter 102 times while forecasting an early spring just 18 times." Yippee - this is one of the early spring predictions. Hope Phil is right!

Looks like we'll mainly get rain from this winter storm. Surprisingly, a few schools in this part of the state actually closed. Very odd, since schools usually won't close unless we're expected to get more than 6".

Well, now we know it's probably going to be a long Winter, since it's inaccurate more often than not.

Looks like Spring is here today w/sunshine glaring through my window. Still chilly right now but warming up to I'd say maybe 50. Then the darn rain returns tomorrow but hey you can't have Spring w/o rain, at least here anyways

remember people it is time to take all your aerators off your faucets and clean them in vinegar and baking soda and soak them in it for at the very least half an hour .

Well, this February 2nd, we were really lucky with this snow storm. All we got was rain, so in the end, we actually have less snow on the ground than before it started.

However, in recent years, February 2nd was a nightmare.

Just last year, Feb. 2nd, 2015, we had a pretty big snowfall. I took a walk in the woods after it ended, and the snow was more than knee deep.

Of course, the big one was on Feb 2nd, 2011. We were credited with about 2 feet of snow, but in reality, as far as the eye could see snow was about 3.5 to 4 feet deep. Some drifts even 5 to 6 feet high, mainly around houses. It was the worst snowstorm I've ever seen.

You'd think that everything would be shut down for days, but roads were mostly cleared later that day, and side roads were taken care of the next day. I was surprised to hear that parts of the East coast were shut down so long after their recent storm.

Reason a lot of the areas here were shut down is because we do not have the equipment to handle snow and what we do have is not for heavier snow .I know there was a big road grader that did our road around 3 am sunday .By wednesday a lot of the snow was gone

Raining here, melting the snow = flood warnings. Just near the rivers and low lying areas.
