I kicked into pond mode! Thinking of going and getting duckweed, my fish might enjoy some

I got duckweed, and then ended up with random water bugs and snails I didn’t know I’d netted. I also caught 3 tadpoles! I put them in with the pleco along with a bit of duck weed. I’ll post pics after I get done with dinner.

Waiting on potatoes to boil. Snapped some pictures. Oh boy, tons of daphnia in the pleco tank now, and the tadpoles are hiding. I only found 1 to get a picture. That tanks in our bedroom, and has been rather ignored lately. I just added some branches and tried my little bog planter of pothos, but that pump has died, so.... next paycheck I need a new pump.

The outside area. I’m doing back to back posts to separate the pictures. Ignore the mess on the porch, I’ve got to clean it off, and the water came from draining a tote to move it. As I’m posting these, I’m watching my betta guppy tank, they are all chasing daphnia and I’m watching males start to posture a bit establishing either tank or trying to court females. That tanks in the living room, right in front of the couch where I sit. I’m thinking I need to add a white light so I can see colors better. Then a new hang on back filter full of plants, and I might try planting it rather than just containers of lillies. I put a little of the duck weed in, once I clean the debris out of the rest, I’ll add more.

Thanks! Water's still a bit too brown for my liking from all the oak tree pollen, but the plants are coming back nicely & it's starting to clear. And you simply can't beat a tadpole pedicure!! lol

Had a funeral today for my grandpa who died a few days ago. After that, we went back to my grandma's and hung out for the rest of the afternoon. It's been a long week and I'm glad that it's over.

To be honest, the past year has been very hard on her. She's had to be his full-time caretaker and it was really difficult for her. His health had been in a steady decline over the last year, so things continuously became harder for her. I feel a bit relieved, because there have been some really difficult times lately. I'm hopeful that she'll now do things that she hadn't been able to do in recent years. I'm hoping to take her to a park or two sometime this summer. She deserves to get out and enjoy while she's still able to get around as good as she can.

I've visited my grandparents every Thursday for the past decade. I suppose it makes complete sense to say goodbye to him today, a Thursday.

Now, a photo of him sits behind the Green Bay Packers stock car he gave me last October. I had wanted it for years. My mom always said she'd make sure I'd get it when he died. I'm glad he was able to give me it while he was still alive. He had a huge collection of cars and tractors. On that day, when he heard I wanted it, he got up and walked down the hall quicker than I had seen him walk in months and asked what else I wanted, and I brought home more than I expected. He seemed thrilled that some of his collection was staying in the family.

Owner of the company will be in tomorrow to look at our store. Which in my book, means staying late to get extra cleaning done. But I’m so tired already!

Driving just saw 3 bald eagles near our house! I have never seen them here.

Day off! I need to do a water change and tank clean up on the pleco tank. The branches I put in caused it to go murky, and I’ve got to do some major cleaning.
