Yes, you can't really buy peas in the can that are not shelled. When the fish are small, I just give the pea a squeeze and the innards pop out and then I toss the shell away. When the fish are bigger, I just toss 'em in by the handful.

I buy the big box of cans at Costco LeSuerur Very Young Small Early Peas in 15oz cans. I think there's like 12 cans in the carton. I feed peas once every other week. It's the only thing my fish eat that has salt in it. I'm not worried about the salt content.

From what I have heard a Koi would eat a brick with...........Hmmmm... What is that saying again koikeepr?

. Besides the nutritional benefits, peas act as a laxitive. This helps flush them out and aids in preventing bacterial infections.
maybe I'll give 'em alittle benefiber ,it works for me...................................
lol

In giving your fish these treats remember the more ya feed the more ya have to clean.I'm sure natural foods are all what we want, but the due tend to leave a mess for the filter system

Well, my fish thought they were eating a Filet Mignon today. I gave them a hand full of peas (at first they were unsure) and then................they went nuts.
Especially since they are all just resting on the bottom lately. Too dang hot to eat.
