Growing tail?

Hi forum, so I am here with a new questions. As you'll know I just bought some new koi from Japan, about 2months ago. One of the fish which is about 25~30 cm is a Shusui. Today I noticed just above its tail fin ( caudal fin ) a extension to the tail growing. I am not sure if it is a deformity or it is the way the tail grows. Please do advice.

Here is a photo of its tail. Please do note my question is about the part that is pretruding. The pretrution was not there when I bought and has occurred recently. It is not a lump but looks like a fin. The koi actually moves it as a fin to stabilise it self. Any ideas? Should I be worried?

I wouldn't worry. Appears to be a mutation as a result of cross breeding. You may have a unique fish.

If the fish is still growing then the tail is still growing. Unique = One-of-a-kind.
