I thought about that, Sissy, but wonder if I would have to worry about fire if I left it on all the time? I have an older one, no more than 10 years old, perfect shape. May just put it under the bulbs in the basement, since it's cooler down there, see if that will jump start them. Have them under light 14 hours a day, but just planted them less than a week ago. will let you know if that helps. if so, will use it for the seed trays, too! Seeds are on kitchen table, east side of the house. Maybe should put them on my desk in bedroom, south side, huh?

The thrills of winter cruising........high winds.......high waves..........one rocking big boat! The waves ranged between 15-25 feet. We passed through one squall after another. Tons of lightening. It was neat. Hard to show the true height, we are up on the 6 floor

The room had three closets, we had enough clothes for 1/2 of one closet..............lol

We had some sun at port canaveral, some at nassa, cold and cloudy at freeport, cold cold cold on the way back. Winds high enough they closed the upper decks. The highest we saw was 80.

Still sat on the deck wrapped up in our coats, robes and towels............
We enjoyed the room to the fullest, we would never pay the price to book one.

We were slugs, did not even get off the boat. Did enjoy the ride though. Honey needed this down time after his mom passing.

You had a nice rest and now I hear the snow is coming your way. I have your camera windows open and I'm waiting to watch it when it arrives!
All looks so quiet and still...........the calm before the storm

This area is so traffic heavy driving into the dc area, that is one reason any snow is a nightmare. Even an inch can shut things down. The last storm, hit at home rush hour, it took some people 7 hours to make a 1 hour drive, they where stuck on the sides of roads etc and that was just 3 inches.

Addy, are the purple ones crocus, and the yellow??? They look like day lilies but surely day lilies are not blooming yet are they? Gorgeous! I think you win the prize for the first flowers in freezing climates.

They are crocus CE coming up nicely, I am sure they survived our snow.

Pond up and running, no smell, no dirt coming from the bog...............beautiful clean water. It has not been running since november.

Just starting to flow

I have my main pump going into a laundry basket in the "pool" at the bottom of my short waterfall, and nothing is collecting in the quilt batting. But, this weekend, when the temps get up to close to 60, may be a different situation. My bog has been running most of the winter, probably 2 weeks total it was not running. Goldfish pond, stream and bog ran all winter, maybe 1 week total the stream did not run, bog has run all but I think just a couple of days, since it's pumped from pump on milk crate on bottom of pond, and that area never freezes. I'm really happy how clear everything is. Hoping it stays that way and does not go green this spring, but time will tell. Maybe if it doesn't warm up fast like it did last year, the beneficial bacterial will have a better chance of starting up before the algae does.

Warm up fast...........that's an unheard of problem in this area! I'd put up w/the algae for a bit of warmth here
