Happy 2024 to ponders everywhere! It’s so chilly here, I have to swap my hummer feeders out every couple hours because they freeze solid. :smuggrin:

Wow! But that is so very beautiful, even if it's a bit frightening.

Our pond’s half thawed today, with freezing rain and mixed rain/snow. I had to add water over the last few days to keep the above ground pump happy. We had at least 500 gallons of surface water freeze, dropping the level of water available for recirculation.
When the ice melts, the resulting high water drains away through an overflow pipe in the skimmer box. Without good drainage our backyard and basement would be flooded. :wideyed:
