I NEVER said to not pump the water from the bottom, as a matter of fact, I said the opposite. Re-read what I posted. I said IF you do, put some safeguard on the water level re the float switch.

I didn't mean from you. I'm agreeing with you.

I can't see the pipe breaking tbh. So everyone with a submersible pump fits a float switch ?
no, only the ones trying to safeguard against the pump accidentally pumping too much water out of the pond.

I'll take my chances....Its a natural pond hybrid so I want full control over the pump over my mobile phone....

I may not even run it 24/7

I'm not putting koi in :)

Stones and rocks have arrived...These are the smaller ones. The big stones need a clean and I have no idea how i'm going to get them situ

Made some changes and added a two way Valve..

This means I can drain the pond if I want and control flow

I also made the reservoir wider but shallower .I figured it would be easier to clean etc...

Looking good, mix your large, medium and small rocks together. The larger round rocks look good, being partial buried. Makes them look more natural. If they are on the liner dig a small depression under the liner for the rock to sit it.

Just my opinion.........very humble of course!

I agree in mixing up the different sizes! As for where to put what, that's up to you, your taste and your level of pickiness ...try different stones in one spot, until you find the one that (in your opinion) fits best!
I'm very picky! I'm still changing stones around the edge of my pond!

I'm not sure @Gags are they alive, or could they be off a tree?
