Here's my pond tonight.

A few minutes later I witnessed something amazing. I was over by my Mexican Sunflowers trying to photograph a Monarch Butterfly (and not having much luck because it was getting dark as well as a storm moving in), when all of a sudden, a Ruby-throated Hummingbird flew in. The two started fighting, directly over my head! After some amazing air maneuvers, they both flew away. I was able to capture this very blurry photo, again, it was getting dark and they were moving very fast!

went out and mowed by the road and went one track around the edge of the front yard and used the edger just to get the places where people can see it from the road and soaked with sweat .Feels like a 100 degrees out there .The rest will wait .Lost an inch of water in the pond after feeling it this morning .Plants are thirsty .I hope they are right about this heat ending by sunday .80 degrees will feel great after this

Had a cold snap last weekend, back to sweet mid 80's now. Just a lil reminder of how much I dislike winter here.

We also had a chilly week, considering how hot it's been. Days in the upper 60s to low 70s and nights from 28-35, much better than mid to upper 90s with lows in the 50s. I HATE hot weather! Fall is my favorite time of year and it feels like fall now. Our potatoes got frosted, that's ok as they are done anyhow. The tomatoes were well protected, so they're still doing fine. I have hopes that the ones in the greenhouse will keep producing for a couple months.
