Did you build that screen yourself? I'm interested in making one. I'm not a DIY person and would rather buy online.

And lots of frost crystals everywhere Inside. Amazing that Inside cold frame, pond has no ice after the extreme cold all week!

Goes to show the power of evaporation.
The cover is also increasing the humidity level over that section of pond, so evaporation is reduced even more.

I hope you don't have to that cattle trough heater at all this winter. Those things are expensive to run.

I don't have to pay for it.... Hubby does ! Ha ha ha!
Actually electric is pretty cheap for us, (Medicine Hat) maybe cause we have small house... Hubby only complains if it's not plugged in cause he hates to freeze the fish.

I bought the window screen at Habitat for humanity and used my sewing machine to make the pockets and slid the electrical conduit into it
