Going to be another hot day, at least the sun goes down sooner these days. Supposed to get to 86 degrees this afternoon. Ait conditioning was not working on bakery yesterday, thankful I will spend much of the time in big walk in Freezer!

95°F earlier today. It's dropping really fast now, 68°F. We're getting hit with a nasty storm right now. Strong winds, heavy rain and hail. Tons of thunder and lightning.

I have a feeling there will be quite a bit of plant damage. Here was the scene about 30 minutes ago just as it was starting to roll in:

60 mph winds rolled in today taking down a lot of big trees in our neighborhhood. Also we got some of the largest hail I have ever seen. One tree limb smashed a car down the street and the whole roof of the car caved in from the force.

We got lucky here. A lot of wind, a lot of rain, the large hail just missed us. Just west of here they were reporting baseball size hail. No damage here, no trees down.

Yes, Chicago is around 70ish miles south of me. 60 as the crow flies.

It's hot. It's cooler today, coming in at a breezy 99. It's even sticky hot in the mornings. Last night it was 90 at 6pm. I'm not saying I'm ready for fall but a pumpkin spice latte sounds yummy right about now

We got 95 degrees right now in the shade, feels hot and sticky too. Managed to stain back deck this afternoon. Hope it dries soon cause I will have to let puppies out front door to get to back yard for now. Deck blocked off so puppies won't get paint on paws..

first we complain about cold then we complain about heat ,Why can't we just have spring and fall .

It's all good right now cause sun going down, stain will be drying all night cause it takes that stain a good day to dry at least. The sweet puppies will just have to get used to front door for the night. Hopefully it will be dry enough for puppy paws in morning.

Well finally rain here after over 3 weeks of nothing but could have done without all the wind and lightening
