I have rocks from Ohio, KY, NC, SC GA, FL and several from Hawaii. I have some lava rock that I brought back when we went there in 1999, I also brought back a 25lb piece of coral that I dug up on the beach. This was before the weight restrictions on your bags from airlines and before 911 so it was easier to get things in your luggage without alerting TSA. Last year on our way home from Hilton Head we stopped and picked up about a dozen rocks along this backroad we took home.

I shipped mine back and it got here before I got back .Easier to just box it and ship it these days .Funny how many people you meet just love rocks .Sounds a little crazy huh .I did find one place and not sure it is still available that shipped smaller amounts of lava rock from Hawaii .

maybe he is thumbless because he smashed them working so hard or lost them in the machinery
