@addy1 beautiful fish and man that Hornwort is huge! That Osprey gets fed quite well on those big fish. The last fish looked quite heavy for him to carry.

that Hornwort is huge
Over winter it is a slight layer on the bottom of the pond, then poof, grows like a weed. It makes a nice forest type filter in the deep end of the pond, the fish love to hide in it. They were nicely swimming near me cause they thought they were going to get fed!

My pads are coming up red too, what's with that, is it normal?
Early in the spring when the water is cooler my lily pads have always come up red.
I have some that come up red all summer, some come up green, right now I have a combo of colors, we dove down in temps again.

I watched eagles trout fish in Colorado in a pond they stocked to be able to fish trout. The neighbors finally gave up, the eagles got more fish than they did.

I went out and played with my go pro, right where the upper pond waterfalls into the big pond. The hornwort is around 4 foot tall.


Oooo, the red one with black tail and fins! AND the calico spotted, awesome!
